Milana Aleksandrovna Vayntrub is an American comedian, actor and activist. Born in the Soviet Union to Jewish parents She began her career as a child actor shortly after immigrating to the United States. She came to prominence for her appearances in AT&T television commercials as saleswoman Lily Adams from 2013 to 2016 and since in 2020. Commercial appearances weren't her only activity she was involved in. She was also a part of the Yahoo! Screen science fiction comedy Other Space (2015) and had a recurring role on the NBC drama This Is Us (2016-2017). Vayntrub has also been the voice for Squirrel girl in Marvel Rising since 2018, after she was cast in the unaired television pilot New Warriors. Vayntrub was born in Tashkent, Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic, USSR, and is Jewish. At the age of two she emigrated with her parents to the U.S. to escape antisemitism. She moved to West Hollywood. Her family's financial difficulties resulted in her appearing in Mattel Barbie commercials from the age of five. Vayntrub briefly was a student at Beverly Hills High School. However, she quit her sophomore year, and subsequently obtained the GED. Then she went on to receive the Bachelor of Arts degree in communication from the University of California San Diego. She learned how to perform improv from the Upright Citizens Brigade.
