In the past (i.e. the early 2020s, comedians could have imagined spending many years performing across the UK as stand-ups before getting invited to appear on a television panel show and selling tickets to an arena tour. It's not so easy at the moment. One art form that can still be performed live is comedy, but there's no chance of arena tour. One Bristol comedian, however, has managed to attract an enormous global audience during lockdown through social media. Abi Clarke didn't set out to become a famous internet personality. Abi Clarke, a 24 year old who lives in Henbury , England with her parents, began making her first online video to "build a community of similar people who would be interested in my stand-up comedy." "I was doing a lot more shows in Devon to males aged 50 and over, so I started creating online videos with the intention that I could build an audience of like-minded people who would enjoy my stand-up comedy," Abi said.
